La Tour Eiffel

The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower 324 meters in height (with antenna) o 1 located in Paris, at the northwest end of the park Champ de Mars beside the River Seine in the 7th arrondissement. Built by Gustave Eiffel and his staff for the Paris Exposition of 1889, and originally called "tower 300 meters", this monument has become a symbol of the French capital, and a leading attraction: it is the second french cultural pay site most visited in 2011, with 7.1 million visitors, 75% foreigners in 2011, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is at the top of the monuments in the open access with 13.6 million estimés1 of visitors, but it remains the most visited paid monument in the world, 2 note 1 it welcomed its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.
At a height of 312 1 mètreso originally the Eiffel Tower remained the highest monument in the world for 41 years. The second level of the third floor, sometimes called the fourth floor, located at 279.11 m, is the highest publicly accessible observation of the European Union and Europe's highest platform as that of the Ostankino Tower Moscow peaking at 337 m will remain closed to the public, following the fire in 2000 the height of the tower has been repeatedly raised by the installation of many antennas. Used in the past for many scientific experiments, it now serves as transmitter of radio and television programs.
